• A powerful celebration of history, community, and activism.

The Seattle Chapter of the Black Panther Party made history with its 50th Anniversary conference. This three-day event brought together over 2,500 attendees, including prominent Black Panther leaders and members of the "rainbow coalition." Marie was proud to lead the project, transforming a vision into a reality that honored the SCBPP's legacy while inspiring future generations.

For almost six months, Marie supported an array of community events highlighting the multi-faceted impact of the Seattle Chapter, including teach-in celebrations at Leschi Elementary and Franklin High School, as well as a free celebration of the medical clinic they founded and eventually renamed to honor of their beloved comrades, The Carolyn Downs Clinic.

  • Marie was instrumental in bringing the 50th Anniversary to life. As project lead, she orchestrated a complex event involving a multi-state team of 25 individuals. Our focus on meticulous planning, budget management, and stakeholder collaboration ensured the event was a resounding success.

✔︎ Project Management Excellence: From concept to execution, we delivered a seamless experience.

✔︎ Team Leadership: Building a cohesive team to achieve extraordinary results.

✔︎ Financial Stewardship: Effective budget allocation for maximum impact.

✔︎ Stakeholder Collaboration: Fostering strong partnerships to honor the SCBPP's legacy.

  • The 50th Anniversary was more than just an event; it was (is) a movement. Recognized with the 2019 "Excellence in Public Programming" award from the Association of King County Historical Organizations, the conference ignited conversations about social justice and inspired a new generation of activists.
